This 3-hour downhill guided bicycle tour in the Blue Mountains operates daily, and begins with a pick-up at your Ocho Rios or Montego Bay hotel or resort.
As you travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned bus, you’ll hear about Jamaica’s colorful past, making short stops at historical sites along the way. The drive takes you past banana plantations and local outdoor markets.
The first stop in the mountains is at an open-air restaurant located at 2,600 feet above sea level, where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous Jamaican brunch and as much real Blue Mountain coffee as you can drink!
After brunch you’ll be fitted with protective gear in preparation for a thrilling downhill ride. You’ll be taken to an elevation of 5,600 feet, where you’ll select your bike and enjoy the best scenic vistas in the Caribbean.
The descent begins! The tour moves leisurely at around 5-10 miles per hour. While coasting down this part of the mountain you’ll have a chance to admire the beautiful landscapes, featuring pristine streams and waterfalls, misty slopes, varied species of Jamaican birds, wildflowers, and plants.
Stop for lunch at the same spot you had brunch and then enjoy a swim at a secluded, pristine waterfall.
Tour Reviews
Had the opportunity to take the tour in January 2018. Friendly accommodating staff at the Ocho Rios pick up location. We were running late due to rain and an accident and the staff said no problem we’ll keep in touch with you by phone so we could update our status for arrival. Bus driver was excellent. The guides up on the mountain superb and kept everyone safe while allowing us to explore and feel comfortable. There is also a photographer on the journey….a young lad taking great pictures without you realizing. I recommend this tour company 100%, so much so that I have booked my children to take this tour this week while visiting Jamaica. Only thing to know is that it is high up and jamaica being tropical, it does get misty with beautiful tropical rainforest rain. It can also be a little on the cool side so a light hoodie type jacket is ideal. They do provide plastic rain capes with a hood at no charge. Take the tour and come back to share your experience as I have. /LS, Toronto, Canada
We booked the Blue Mountain Bike tour through Amstar. It was a smooth ride down the hill and we got to enjoy nature. Definitely not exhausting at all and a great way to get in touch with the environment and relax your mind.
